My portrait sessions are approached as studies, rather than traditional commissions.
Working intuitively and with minimal direction, I document people within moments of stillness, movement, and emotional presence. The work is led by light, form, and atmosphere, allowing gestures and relationships to emerge without interruption. Children are not posed. Mothers are not performed. Families are observed as they are. Layered, transient, and human.
The resulting images sit between portraiture and documentary, holding both intimacy and distance. Each photograph is considered as an individual work, while also belonging to a wider body of practice concerned with time, memory, and the physical and emotional landscape of motherhood.
Sessions are slow and deliberate, creating space for the subject to settle into themselves rather than respond to instruction. Editing is minimal yet intentional, focused on tone, texture, and emotional clarity rather than polish or perfection.
These works are created with longevity in mind. Intended to live beyond the digital, as printed objects, archives, and exhibition pieces.
